This class is designed for anyone wishing to create more conceptual portraits for personal or professional level photography needs. To gain the best results from this workshop, we suggest that students have an understanding of their camera, F-stop, shutter speed, and have processed their images through Lightroom or Photoshop.
Day 1: The class begins with a lecture on Conceptual Portrait and Fashion Photography and Lighting. Lecture is followed by hands on
studio lighting set up and shoots with models. Lou will work with the models and the students to view images while shooting.
Plus Lou will give 100's of posing, styling and shooting tips while on set. Following lunch and weather permitting, Lou will take
location lighting and crew to a very inspiring and creative editorial style location. Students will work with Lou while setting up studio light on location to achieve wonderful fantasy lighting "looks". Lou will first shoot and then work with each student and the models and they experiment and shoot on their own. Each student will feel what it is like to make art and fashion for portraits while learning about ambient and studio light on location, interesting thoughts on camera setting plus posing ideas to deliver the look that is best for the style, clothing and message of the shoot.
Day 2:The second day of class will begin with a change directions to a new lecture on Portrait and Lifestyle Photography lighting set ups explained. Following the lecture, there will be a demonstration of headshot and beauty lighting in studio. The focus will be understanding the subtle differences and names of the lighting, posing and styling for each
genre. The students will embark on great communication skills as well and shooting images of these subjects. Following lunch and gear break down.
Student and crew will go on locations with Lou for shooting lifestyle and portraits. Students will be given a short lecture on location portrait lighting suggestions then a live demonstration will be conducted.

Each student will feel what it is like to direct, light and conduct a smart creative portrait, headshot and lifestyle photography session.
